Dishwasher repair in Akron & Summit County, OH

Not draining, not filling, leaking onto the kitchen floor, dishes coming out dirty, door latch broken, panel unresponsive, or won't start a cycle? We come to your kitchen and most repairs are done the same visit.

Symptoms we see most

  • Won't drain (drain pump impeller clog or pump motor)
  • Won't fill (water inlet valve, float switch, or supply line shut off)
  • Leaking onto the floor (door gasket, tub gasket, sump, or wash arm seal)
  • Dishes coming out dirty (spray arms, filter, water temp, or wash motor)
  • Door latch broken or won't latch closed (door switch or latch assembly)
  • Panel buttons unresponsive (touchpad, control board, or thermal fuse)
  • Won't start a cycle (door switch, control board, or selector)
  • Long cycle times that never finish (heating element, thermistor, or control board)
  • Loud during wash (motor bearing, broken impeller, or chopper blade)

Brands we repair

Whirlpool, Maytag, KitchenAid, GE, GE Profile, GE Cafe, Samsung, LG, Frigidaire, Bosch, Miele, Kenmore, Amana, Hotpoint. Built-in, drawer-style (Fisher & Paykel), portable, and ADA-compliant short-tub units.

What you pay

$89 flat diagnostic anywhere in Summit County, credited toward the repair. If the unit is past its useful life and isn't worth fixing, we tell you straight — no charge for the visit.

When a dishwasher isn't worth fixing

Two cases. First: control board failure on a low-end Whirlpool or Frigidaire that's 7+ years old — the board can cost more than a new dishwasher. Second: tub leak from a cracked plastic sump or split tub — replacement parts often aren't available for older models. Everything else (pumps, seals, valves, latches, sensors) is almost always worth fixing.

Service area

Same-day in Akron, Cuyahoga Falls, Stow, Tallmadge, and Fairlawn. Full service area.

Common questions

How much does dishwasher repair cost in Akron?
Most dishwasher repairs run $160–$320 all-in. Drain pump ($170–$240). Wash motor ($230–$330). Door latch or door switch ($140–$200). Water inlet valve ($180–$240). Door seal or tub gasket ($150–$220). Control board ($300–$450) — only worth it on a higher-end machine.
Dishwasher won't drain. What is that?
Three things in order of likelihood: clogged drain pump (food debris caught in the impeller), kinked or clogged drain hose, or a failed drain pump motor. The first two we clean out as part of the diagnostic; the third is a parts replacement.
Dishes coming out dirty — bad dishwasher?
Often not. First check: spray arms aren't blocked, the filter at the bottom of the tub isn't full of food debris, and the rinse aid is filled. If those are fine: water inlet valve, wash pump, or low water temperature (need 120°F+ at the dishwasher). We diagnose the actual cause rather than swap the whole machine.
Leaking onto the kitchen floor — is that the door seal?
Most often, yes. Door gasket goes around the perimeter of the tub opening; over 5–7 years it gets stiff and stops sealing. Sometimes the leak is from the sump (cracked) or a wash arm seal. We pull the kickplate, watch a wash cycle, and find the actual source.
Bosch and high-end brands?
Yes. Bosch, Miele, KitchenAid, GE Profile, and Cafe are common in Summit County kitchens. Bosch in particular has a different design (no heating element in the tub — it air-dries) so the diagnostic differs. Parts lead times on Bosch are typically 2–4 days.
